    Hello!

I am Sergiu from Romania (my first post here), no straight razor user yet, but for sure, I contemplated the idea for long, read everything about it and I am waiting for the right moment to arrive (Paypal available for Romania, an occasion that would justify the investment in something I want, not something I need, and that is something different than photography; wife to get along with the idea...) - that would be me, at least from the straight razor point of view...

I've seen the three videos from work, end of day today! They seem good, information is straightforward, except that... If you click on the user, you'll see that he has a fourth video, claiming that the best (and newest) way to sharpen a razor is using a brick! That sounds like a joke to me, even more so after I saw how he treats the razor (even though he makes a reference to the Yahoo group and is very serious in the video). Now, either I got it the other way (the video is for good), either you can't trust anyone (he speaks so nice in three videos and has good info, that laughs at us in the fourth).
Have you seen that video yet?

Haha, how he doesn't laugh when doing this, i don't know.
The best part? It has to be the milk, and the thumbnail test.
Wish i could hone like this and get a shave ready razor!

to make it easier for everyone to find the videos discussed here:

    http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=plexuss

he also has a video of himself shaving that reminds me of Charlie's Angels "flick your hair" (Lucy Liu)
    "What?!" (Cameron Diez)
"Flick your damn hair" (lucy Liu)

now if you gentleman will be kind enough to excuse me, I'm going to take some whole milk and hone my razor on my neighbors house...

Milk and a brick. What is this world coming to. Next its going to be porcupine quills and marshmellow creme for brush and lather. Im by no way a honemeister but that just seems like razor suicide. Hopefully someone can clear this up. What yahoo group is he talking about?

This guy better be kidding me...I only use the word "idiot" because I could see someone completely naive to straight shaving actually doing this b/c he posted the video...it's not even funny...just a bad attempt at humor.

I laughed my nuts off when I saw the brick hone. I'm not sure anyone could take this seriously?

We're going to have a lot of fun correcting guys after watching that video. Looks to me like the idea of the brick in genuine and that he is teaching how to smooth out a bevel. I would assume sharpening must occur next ? I thought it was funny the way he pans in on two hones and talks about how to hone. Only for like 10 seconds does he hone at all and his stroke on the hone is horrible.
