    Just experienced something similar to the OP. Just got a razor that was supposedly finished on a coti and was shave ready but I thought wait a minute, I wonder. Did a bevel reset 3k Nani, 8k Nani and 12k Nani and the result on the second go was a sharper edge for me. Yea, 2 goes at it being not too good at honing yet. Anyway it really is a YMMV thing I suppose.
