Default which microscope should i buy for inspecting the edge of my razors?

it should be a stereo microscope with a camera capable of taking still images and recording video if possible but not essential. i dont know what x zoom it should be (i dont want to buy a 800x zoom if i will only ever use a 20 x zoom). i think a dissecting microscope might suffice. my budget is probably £150 GBP but i would like a good quality one.

here is one i have seen but i would like to know what other people are using and what is best for this application (the application is checking if the bevel is set, observing scratch patterns and posting pictures of my scratch patterns on this forum).

2013 AmScope 20x-40x Binocular Stereo Dissecting Microscope with USB Digital Cam | eBay

a bit out of my price range^^^^^^

at the moment i have a cheap usb microscope of ebay from china its 800x zoom but goes out of focus after 20x

i am going to buy a loupe aswell any suggestions on that?

Been using these for years. Cheap and a good view if the edge and bevel due to the lighting arrangement.
ebay has a bunch and get at least two!!

Because when folks see you using them in an antique store or a coin or pen shop..you give them away! Or sometimes sell them. The 6=X also has a UV/ black light usable for checking depression glass or modern currency

Now I don't have the details but I heard it said the plans for the first Atomic Bomb actually came out of a Cracker Jack Box.

We have numerous threads discussing magnifiers. It's all a matter of what you want to see and how deep your pockets are.

If you have the funds and the desire to get a stereo microscope, that's what you should get. The Amscope units are good for the money. You'll see a lot more about what's going on with the edge with that than you will with just about any other sort of magnifier.
You can find a much more reasonably priced stereo microscope without the USB camera, and add that later, or else just get a camera eyepiece adapter and use a regular digital camera.
