Thanked: 18Connection between honing and bleeding?
I'm starting to recognize a correlation between honing in the evening, and getting numerous small bleeders in the morning. I haven't (yet) tied this to one or more of the several finishers I play with. But I definitely noticed that the first shave or two off a freshly honed blade results in many small bleeders in the 'goatee' region.
Any thoughts on this?

Thanked: 13247Less pressure
Honestly even after 30+ years I still have to remind myself to back off on pressure, this is especially true on a freshly honed edge, when it is at it sharpest..
It is just counter intuitive to expect a closer shave when using less pressure

You know, come to think of it, I have noticed a weeper or two after a fresh honing... thanks for the reminder, Glen!

You are supposed to save the tape to put on the weepers...................
