    Default Lapping the lapping stone

I have a Naniwa lapping stone (not the big one) and a DMT 325 diamond plate. Can I lap the Naniwa with the DMT? I understand lapping a lapping stone needs to be done periodically. I also wanted to get the honing stone residue off of the Naniwa lapping stone.

I think the DMT will eat anything, yes lap with it. I did my Norton lapper with it.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

    Yup.
The DMT will have no problems eating away at the Naniwa lapping stone.
    Been there, done that!

OMG - please...are you saying that the Naniwa Flattening stone I ordered, in order to lap my Naniwa 12k, needs to be lapped itself? Hahaha....when does the lapping end?

This is the stone I ordered to lap my Naniwa and to use in future...thanks!

Now I am confused, I thought the DMT or other diamond plate could be used to lap hones directly, it seems to me.that a lapping stone is just another layer of expense. I could well be wrong though, I am quite new to this.

The general opinion is to get a DMT or Atoma diamond plate rather than a lapping stone. Both the Naniwa and Norton lapping stones needs lapping....

    Correct!
If you have a diamond plate then there is absolutely no need for any lapping stone beyond that
