After a lot of frustration, I have finally gotten the kind of edge I have been looking for and have been able to reproduce it with three different razors. I have been using a coticule all along but now have a dmt lapping plate and properly lapped the stone. Second, I bought a vintage Thüringen and am using it as a finisher. First I use the coticule with slurry and slowly dilute down to water. After 30 half strokes and ten x strokes on water I move on to lather. Again 30 half and 30 x strokes. Next, the thuri with slurry 30 and 10. 30 and 10 on water. Finally 10 strokes a piece on .25 micron diamond spray and chromium oxide. strop on linen then leather. Sum total of all this effort is a beautiful edge. soft but super keen. just thought i'd share.
