Very nice. Love the pictures. After the 1k norton, this will be my next acquisition. They are so darn expensive though. Maybe as a birthday present this June. Hmmm

As much as I would like an 8x3, my 7x1.5 does the job just fine.
I only use it for polishing after the 8K, the fact that it is smaller does not hurt.
You'll want to round the corners though. I noticed that the edge is much better after polishing on a stone with rounded corners.

Btw, if you are honing a warped razor, a narrow stone can actually be an advantage because you can get much better contact on the stone. In that case, rounded corners are essential.

Interesting. I will keep that in mind. I have never even seen a warped razor.

As for the rounded edges, I agree wholly. Things were a lot smoother going after I rounded my corners and edges on my Norton 4/8k.

Take a razor you don't like.
Lay it flat on the table with a pencil underneath the heel and the toe.
press in the middle until the elastic distortion turns plastic.
    release pressure.
    voila: warped razor.

Of course there're a dozen ways to warp a razor.
most surprisingly, people usually don't warp their razors on purpose.

    Default You're welcome!

I thought I recognized my window sill! Glad you're enjoying the stone.
