Very nice. Love the pictures. After the 1k norton, this will be my next acquisition. They are so darn expensive though. Maybe as a birthday present this June. Hmmm

As much as I would like an 8x3, my 7x1.5 does the job just fine.
I only use it for polishing after the 8K, the fact that it is smaller does not hurt.
You'll want to round the corners though. I noticed that the edge is much better after polishing on a stone with rounded corners.
Btw, if you are honing a warped razor, a narrow stone can actually be an advantage because you can get much better contact on the stone. In that case, rounded corners are essential.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Interesting. I will keep that in mind. I have never even seen a warped razor.
As for the rounded edges, I agree wholly. Things were a lot smoother going after I rounded my corners and edges on my Norton 4/8k.

Take a razor you don't like.
Lay it flat on the table with a pencil underneath the heel and the toe.
press in the middle until the elastic distortion turns plastic.
release pressure.
voila: warped razor.
Of course there're a dozen ways to warp a razor.
most surprisingly, people usually don't warp their razors on purpose.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

You're welcome!
I thought I recognized my window sill! Glad you're enjoying the stone.
