Thanked: 104What part of the forum should I be in.
I wish to learn a little on honing and the stones associated with the process. I keep being told I'm in the wrong place. Please send me to the correct area

Thanked: 1184Another thing you could do is find someone in your area that hones and show up on their doorstep with a 6 pack :<0)
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 1587For how to hone (and how to use stones), this should be the correct forum. For information on actual stones there is the hone forum in the Equipment section.
So for example if you had a question on what stones to buy to get a good starter setup, you'd post that in the Hones forum within the Equipment section. If your question was how to use those stones to hone, that question would go in here. At least that's how I understand it. But there's always a bit of overlap between the two hone-based forums.

Thanked: 104No worries. In this forum/s there are many opinions, ideas and boundaries that shouldn't be crossed. Sometimes trust your instinct. Thanks all for your advice. Bobski

Thanked: 13245Also keep in mind Bobski it is really not a huge Faux Pas either way
There are overlaps as Jimbo says and if one of the Mods moves something we have to put a little note in there, it is us being polite, it is not an admonishment. That is what we are here for,, We help people and try and keep things organized, it is really no big deal if we move something around

Thanked: 1587Actually, often I'll see mods move a thread so that the person who posted it gets the most coverage and therefore the best help.
