    That's a good point. I definitely have taken an edge backwards with slurry when all I should have done was a couple light laps on water - but it's just so fun to run around in that slurry isn't it? It's mesmerizing sometimes...

    I've had a couple that were bevel set with no tape, and I use tape on the finishing (8k and up) with no issues.
    Even if not honed with tape, one layer may give you a slight double Bevel (Zowada style) can be a darn good edge.

    Alright, this is my plan for the evening. 16K refresh, no "slurry", one layer of tape, cro-ox followed by leather, and shave away. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
