Thanked: 2209Razor honing for a new guy.......
A local guy stopped over today for help touching up his razor. His name is Animesh and he has been to my home several times since last summer.
One of the razors I had worked on was this one.........
much to my surprise he gave it to me and said that he has decided that full hollow ground razor suited him better!
We took a bunch of pics so here is a link to all of them.....

Then I dragged out my microscope and we played with examining the edge and also
tried to use a new camera to take pics of the edge thru the scopes eyepiece. I need to play some more with the lighting and the zoom.
Animesh had tried to touch up the edge himself but his error was using 2 hands when honing and putting to much pressure on the toe end of the blade. he ended up with a "frown" 1/2" back in from the toe end of the blade. I showed him how to correct a frown and worked up thru a 8K.
Here is that razor......
Tomorrow will be another new guy!Last edited by randydance062449; 03-02-2014 at 02:24 AM.
