Thanked: 0Expert to hone one for comparison?
I've been DE shaving for years and just re-started straight shaving a while ago. I think I'm getting the hang of honing, but I'd really like to have an expertly-honed blade to compare against my own work and see where I need improvement.
So, I have 2 identical 6/8 Revisors that I bought from John Crowley when he still had these. One I have honed and am shaving with daily. I'd like to send the other to someone here to get a sample of their absolute best work.
Using 2 identical razors should eliminate issues of blade geometry, steel quality, etc.
Anyone interested in helping out? I will gladly pay shipping and whatever you require in compensation for your time.
Thanks in advance,
Bob
P.S. If you prefer to email me, it's [email protected] (you know what to remove)

I recommend sending them to Joe or Lynn. I'd help but I have a huge backlog of my own honing/restoration work and in any case I wouldn't put myself anywhere near the same category as them or Randy.

Thanked: 9And, for the record - they can still feel / shave differently even if honed well by the same expert. for example, the heat treatment might have been a tad different, or even the actual starting steel does not necessarily have to be the same even on the same models
Cheers
