Order status unknown
Well guys I have had some stones on order now since october , now i know they take a while to do so I cut him a bit of slack there as he is the only guy there and he does it all, the cutting, smoothing and finishing and then the QC on them so it is a long process start to finish.
At the moment i have been unable to contact him and the BT answer service lets me know that his box is full, a bit of a nightmare, he does take holidays but as he is getting on a bit I do wonder...so some of my questions go unanswered as yet. But heres hoping...maybe i can catch him next week.
Thanks for your interest guys I appreciate it, keep an eye on e-bay australia as they do come up on there occasionally.
regards,simon

Thanked: 108In the meantime anyone who wants to buy a 6 x 2 Tam O'Shanter (with box and rubbing stone) in NOS condition can PM me. I have one that's lapped flat on all surfaces with edges chamfered, but is otherwise unused.
The only reason I haven't used it and am willing to sell it is that I have two other Tam O'Shanter combo stones.
These are great stones.

Thanked: 0I'm just a new guy, but the story behind these stones is really interesting and hearing everybody singing their praises makes me want to pick one up, just to have around when I start to hone on my own.
Ah, early stages of AD.

Thanked: 0That's what I was leaning towards, but you cinched it. Thanks for the recommendation
(Plus, getting any hone in the first place still satisfies my American consumer-lust, but that's a different matter)
I'll have to tell my friend about these stones, he'll appreciate them as a bag-piping knife-lover.

Tams
I think Tony Miller carries Tams. The ones I have are my study collection specimens.
