    I have 1 1/2 inch 3m electrical tape at work. Sure they sell it to the public

    Amazon seems to have Scotch 88 in both 1-1/2" and 2" widths.

    That's cool, I've also used a piece each way on thicker spines/larger blades ....... PITA ........ Might be worth it to have a roll of the wide stuff laying around for the rare occasions when I might could use it. Thanks to Wade for asking the question. I'd have never known about the wide 3M if he hadn't.
