    Overzealous newb with a strop can wreck an edge easily too. Rare but I've seen it.

    I have had a folded edge and found the leading with the spine for several laps then with the edge several laps will usually fix that. Sometimes I have to do a couple of rotations back and forth but never needed to reset bevel. I was working on a 12k Naniwa to finish a honing session.
