    Default Chromium Oxide Alternative

    Hey all,

I'm after some Chromium Oxide and Boron Carbide Paste for a leather hone I just made. I've seen them on the Hand America site and have emailed to get an order with limited success. I've also heard others have had the same problem.

Can you get this from anywhere else or do I have to wait my turn while the American Hands twiddle their thumbs?

    Cheers,
    David.

Very cool of Firestart, always ready to help out a fellow shaver.

But don't be too hard on Keith. He's a great guy, makes and sells first-rate stuff at great prices. They're going through a bit of a transition right now, as they move from cattle leather to horse on all their strop orders.

    I know, I shouldn't be so hasty.

There are far more good reports about his products and support than bad, I just wondered if there were any other options.

My girlfriend and I make our own soaps and cosmetics, and that's the stuff she uses to make eyeshadow and things. It is Mica Powder - the colour is "Chromium Oxide Green".

Probably the same stuff but it's size of grit is unknown. Wait for the size graded stuff from Firestart or Keith.

    Just my two cents,
