Spendy ! But cool. If it works good you should be able to show us with pictures since it has a built-in camera. I would think that would really help when your learning to hone as then your saved pictures would pretty much be a guide to your progress. That in itself should make honing progress for a newbie much faster .

Mixed reviews. Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Celestron 3 MP LCD Handheld Digital Microscope

I always try amazon for stuff like this to see if there are any reviews. Sounds like it is rather delicate and the battery door will break easily.

After reading the reviews it seems that buying this one is somewhat of a crap shoot. I like the specifications and alleged capabilities but not the reviews.

So it depends what you are trying to see with magnification. High magnification balanced on the edge of a razor is hard to do and now you want to take photos?

One of the problems with the Veho USB scopes is the focus and how easy it is to bump out of focus and it has a base, hand held would make you nuts.

Truth is, you don’t need, that much magnification for honing. You just need to be able to see the edge and tell if the bevels are meeting, or if there are any micro chips.

A 2-3 dollar lighted loupe is the best tool for honing.

    just orderet this one

Amazon.com: Lighthouse Smartphone Microscope 60x Magnification: Cell Phones & Accessories

I think sharing honing moments in this forum is important component of this hobby . Another problem with lcd expensive microscope that it has only 3MP camera, not sufficient for quality view.

An interesting item. With only the one review it is still an unknown quantity, I look forward to your results once you receive it.
