You can go with a 12K, or even a combo 4/8K,,, lots of videos on the 4/8k.
Almost every vendor has these 2 hones.
,,,,,or a 10K

Thanked: 284While it's not as easy since you can't go out and buy a new one exactly, a barber hone is also a nice choice, especially if you're travelling and space limited.
I have in the past couple months been using barber hones for not only touch up, but as a finisher in my honing progression. Hones like the frictionite 00 and others have been very impressive. Nice edges, and very consistent.
A double sided barber would give you that much more flexibility.
Anyway just another opinionI love living in the past...

Both the norton 4/8 & the naniwa 3/8 would be good as you can do a bit more. A 12 naniwa is going to be good for touching the razor up but that's it. The others would let you set a bevel with a bit of work if necessary. If you have the room a combo stone and a 12k would be great. Good luck
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Thanked: 1Picked up a 12k Naniwa. Will let you know how it is once I use it. I think it should get me through the rest of these eight or nine months before getting back to the U.S.
I'll probably pick up a 4/8k or similar Naniwas next time I'm in the States.Last edited by minnepicker; 10-09-2014 at 03:00 AM.
