Thanked: 10Honing mentor in NE Alabama
Looking for someone in north east Alabama, more specifically in the Anniston/Gadsden area to help a rookie. I have a couple razors that need a proper honing before I try to drag them across my face for the first time. Would gladly pay for this service, would even be happy to share some good homebrew (one of my many favorite hobbies now that it is legal in Alabama). Just send me a message if interested in helping me out.

Not sure about a honer in Alabama ,, but a great edge is only as far away as your post office plenty of good guys I. The vendors section who will get it ready for you to try shaving with one. If your just wanting to learn honing ,, maybe try shaving first so you'll know what your trying to achieve when you do start honing. ,m. What kind of razors do you have? And post some pictures maybe we can see if there something that can take an edge. Good luck Tc

Thanked: 10Hey thanks tc, yes I have been checking out the classifieds here and that is difinatly an option. Was just hoping to find someone local to help me out. I currently have a Giessen & Forsthoff and a Double Duck with a Wade and Butcher on the way. Will have to learn how to post pictures here to show them to you.

Looks good to me , is that DD a special #1? I would definitely get them honed right and start shaving , Most like their DD,s and depending on what shape your WB is in there well known too. Good luck , just ask away , have fun and good luck , tc

Thanked: 10Thanks tc, yes the DD is a special #1. Think I did OK for my first razor purchase off the bay. Looking forward to getting them properly honed so I can start using them. Will probably be going the mail route unless I get some local response soon.
