How was the edge after 3k ? Did you correct your assessed problems requiring that stone ?
How did it shave at 8k ? then 12k ? The final stone should not scratch the bevel more than the previous stone.

I was using just plain water when I lost my edge. Idk I grid lapped it twice under running water. Kind of gave up on it for now (didn't want to get TO frustrated ). Took ot back to the 3k then 8k and 12k then went to the zulu grey and some chrox on webbing and felt. Then stropped. Good edge now. I will certainly spend more time later cleaning it and see on another blade if that helps !
