Thanked: 0Uh... What?
So I'm looking for an explanation and/or a solution to what has been happening to my blade.
I have a fairly thick and coarse beard that requires shaving about every other day. Because of this, I sharpen my blade on my sharpening stones about once every 2-2.5 months. I use a Norton 4000/8000 and a Naniwa 12000. I lap and flatten my stones before every use.
But what has been happening to my blade is very strange. On one side, every thing is fine and dandy. But on the other side, the bevel seems to be much longer towards the foot and the head of the blade both on the edge and the spine.
How did this happen?

Sounds like your putting uneven pressure when your honing?

Unless you have a warp somewhere it's likely a pressure problem.
Do you hone with one hand or two?
If it's two that might be the focus of the problem. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Could it possibly be an uneven grind on the blade? Just a thought..

I agree , the probable culprit is uneven pressure. You may wish to try taping the spine, ink the bevel with a sharpie then examine the edge after one or two light and careful laps on your med grit hone. Pics of your edge would be helpful afterwards.
