Default Price Diff on Nortons ??

I already have an 800/4000 waterstone and a coticule, so I only need to add an 8000 Norton.

I'm confused by what I've found - can anyone tell me why a Norton 8000 costs more than a 4000/8000 combo?

    Thanks,
    Tom

Because the 8000 grit costs more to make than the 4000 grit and therefore, they charge more for the 8000 grit stone than the 4000 grit stone. The 4K/8K combination stone is more expensive than the 4K individual stone and cheaper than the individual 8K stone because it is half of each. It is kind of like an average. Make sense?
