    Default Keen Kutter Kwestion

I bought a Keen Kutter Kombination today at an antique store, and wanted to share pictures with you and ask, is this stone okay to lap with my Norton Flattening Stone? If so, would this make a good hone to use after the 8k? Just a "kwestion". I realize it has two chips and some pitting, but other than that, it looks like a good lapping will at least make it usable. Here are the pics.

I don't really see any compelling reason to say no. Sure, I think once you flatten the barber hone and get the chips out, it'll be a nice hone to have.

Assuming it's not harder than the flattening stone. Somebody tried to lap a barber hone with the Norton flattening stone and ended up ruining it.

If you are thinking it might be hard - lap w/ sandpaper on a marble plate, piece of glass, etc.

    Cheers
