It is possible that you don't quite have the bevel fully set. The only thing you have changed is your bevel setter. You are used to the result you get off of the 4k, but a new bevel setter preceded it. If you don't get a good shave off of that razor, you might want to drop all the way back down to the Chosera 1k again.
