Would 320 grit wet dry sandpaper work to flatten the lapping stone?

Why not just lap the stone with the 320 wet & dry and forget the Norton Lapping plate?

They really are a waste of money.

If you are going to hone seriously, buy a diamond plate, make your life easy and stones flat.

The lapping stone came in a set at a discount, got 220/1k 4k/8k and the lapping stone for what the 4k/8k cost by itself,on a budget the diamond stone is a bit out of range right now
