Default Japanese Honing Manuals - FYI

I met with SRP member LilRascal, he's been giving me some great advice around honing and we had coffee yesterday and he loaned me two Jnats to try.

Later, he emailed me two .PDF files that I've attached as an FYI for the forum.

    1. Honing Razors and Nihon kamisori by Kousuke Iwasaki (Translated by Jim Rion)

    2. Honing On Japanese Natural Hones

Apologies if already on file, but there's nothing wrong with the occasional necropost to revive a topic.

The second file had a few curiosities in it. I know who wrote and translated the first file but have no idea who wrote the second. Phrank, do you know?

If memory serves right it is the same person that translated Iwasaki's book- Jim Ryon. He had a bunch of posts on honing on J-nats in his blog.

Yes. That is correct. I originally saw them on Jim Rion's blog. He has lots of great info there.

Hey - thanks again, just got a razor in the mail, a $9.99 project razor, going to give those jnats a try.

Hopefully you won't cringe when you see the result, and yes, tape is my friend!
