Lynn, that's great! Honed right and you're talking 60 to 90 shaves, so that's quite a goal for all of us to aim for. Identifying the target is half the battle!

Thanked: 1587Well Steve, I don't want to get technical here, but knowing and identifying a target, under the right circumstances ...
(just joking)
It is good to know what mileage the experts get from their razors. Personally I've been avoiding the hone like the plague lately (since Christmas) and trying to strop my way out of trouble. It's easier to "go long" if you've got a few blades in the rotation though.
I'm beginning to think my Friodur is a freak of nature! It just keeps going like the eveready bunny!

Very strange thread: I feel as though I'm the only one that hasn't honed yet!
I have two razors in my general rotation. The first is a Robeson Shuredge - with the Brazilian rosewood scales - which I purchased from this forum (sorry, can't remember the seller's name: I would like to ask him what he used to hone it - it shaves superbly even today, maybe three months after I got it).
The second is the Straight Razor Place limited edition razor, honed by Lynn. I love it too and it has a nice chunky weight to it. This is fairly recent and I don't think it will need a touch-up soon.
Anyway, I have my coticules (blue/yellow and a smooth blue) as well as a Norton 4/8K now. Still a little concerned if I'll dull a razor by honing too soon, but it will be an experience - I've not honed anything (successfully) before!
