Default how concerned should i be about a pit?

hope this isn't a stupid question, but how many rust pits on an edge make it unusable? the one's i am talking about are ones that can only be seen with a 30x loupe. so i'm guessing they are about the size of a wisker. let's say that there are 2 on the edge. too many? trash the razor? sell it on ebay? or use it as is? would i really notice them?

go back to the 1K and work your bevel until you get a 100% clean bevel. Otherwise you will not get a worthy shave.

If the pits are through the bevel it will look like a piece of Swiss cheese when you get far enough. If they are close to the edge of the bevel it will become a chip. If they are in the meaty part of the bevel, and you're able to get a good edge below the pit, it is up to you, whether it is worth losing more blade width to get rid of the pit. If it is the Swiss cheese scenario, or the chip, you have no choice but to go on until it is gone. IMHO.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Seriously, i guess i knew the answer to the question, just wanted to make sure i wasn't worrying unnecessarily about "minor" imperfections.

I've bought a few in my time that went on display, in the "closed" position,,,,

Something at 30x should work out, I'd think,,,

I have 1 razor that was worse than it looked when I was bidding on it. After a reasonable amount of steel removed there were a few small pits that could only be seen at 40x but they aren't affecting the edge so left well enough alone and will sort them out once they are a problem.

I would advise you to to rehone the razor . I dont think that pith of that size will make the diference . I recently buy a 30 x magnification gewelers lupe and began to investigate some of my smooth shaving , shave ready , hair pass 4 level test razors .

I was close to heartattac when i see my razors under magnification .I just have to rehone every each one of them , and now they shave .................. the same magnificent way , as before . So take a 8 K or more hone , see the animation for strokes in the library - my favourite is a X stroke and especialy roling X stroke . Began to hone the razor and learn this magic mouvement - Rolling X stroke . The rest will come by it self ( Ohhh the honing desease is bad one ) .
Whatever you do dont fall in the HAD and buy 35 hones like some of us do .
