If anyone wants my reserved stone I'll be happy to release it. I got my coticule rubbing stone from Howard today so I really don't need the escher now. J.

Thanked: 17Jonedangerousli's Escher rubbing stone
Laager, I will gladly buy Jonedangerousli's rubbing stone in addition to the rubbing stone and the larger stone that you already have reserved for me. Thanks, Rich.

Thanked: 108I think I'd like mine sent directly as well Laager. I'd offer to receive and send out all of them, but I'll be gone a lot off and on this summer, so it's not a good idea to take on the responsibility. Thanks again, this is very cool of you to saw up a stone and help us all out.
All best.

Cotigura
The coticule rubbing stone or "cotigura" as I have dubbed it, is pure coticule and if you use it on an escher, you'll get a slurry comprised of both stones. It would probably hone really well! They're both top grade stones. If you want pure escher, use two escher stones. A Japanese nagura wouldn't do and neither would a Norton prep stone.

Thanked: 3Ivo has received his care package. Please let me know when everyone else receives theirs.
Also, let us all know how you go with the stones. One thing you should notice is that it is softer than the grey Escher.

Thanked: 9Clifton,
I really have not used it enough, and especially not enough by itself. For me it's a step after the Coticule and before Chromium (most often, right now)
To give an objective answer I would need to have some more serious methodology and empirical data (experiments).
However, it helped me get some great shaves from a couple of razors. In particular a french frameback, which was nothing less than amazing. Then again, it has not worked so well on others, but I assume this is because I didn't do it right at the stage before I went to it
Cheers
Ivo
