Thanked: 55dmt scratches
Recently lapped my naniwa pro 1000 with dmt d8c and took me a half hour with sandpaper to remove the scratches it put in my hone. also tried to use with a chipped razor and there are some large grains in the surface that stop the razor dead. Is this normal?

Run the shank or handle end of a screwdriver over the dmt then draw a grid on the hone and lap it again.. Sometimes the cutting surface diamond of the dmt have to be knocked down a lil bit.. But once you do this you should b fine.. There is a Gsixgun video on lapping you can refer to on youtube to mayb explain the process better

You need to break in the dmt. Steel bar or similar and grind awsy all over and it will knock all the high points off and mellow it a bit
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed
