    Default Honing/stropping Stainless razor razors

I have a new TI stainless razor and I am considering buying another stainless razor.

Are there any special or different methods/techniques to hone and strop these blades? I would like to be able to care for and maintain these razors myself.

    Thanks, Tony

Same hone and strop as you would a carbon steel.

    Moved to "Honing"

Honestly I have never really noticed much difference at all, UNLESS it is a new custom razor made by somebody that thinks it is a damn knife and uses one of the new super steels that SR just don't need

Pet peeve of mine can ya tell hehehe

But from normal SR production,, no not any real difference IME

Hey Tony! The short answer is 'No'...honing and stropping would be the same regardless of type of steel. It does seem to take a few more stokes on the hones to hone a stainless but that's about all, and as far as stropping there would be no difference that you would note IMO. Most folks think the stainless edge will last longer once they have been honed properly because of the hardness of the steel, but that's about all the difference there is.

Just get a classic Henckels Friodur Inox S.R. They practically honed themselves their so smooth.

When did TI start making stainless razors?

What they all said, stainless may take a few extra passes but it's no big thing.
