The razor still gave a nice enough shave.

But when looking for the most refined edge you can get, you can see that the crayon chrome ox leaves largers striations than the 1 micron finished edge that had previously been established.

I'm awaiting some new chrome ox, to see how that pans out...

Cool. It will be interesting to see how the powdered stuff performs. I got a few packs from ChrisL myself. I seldom, very seldom, use the ChromeOx on my razors. CH12K + linen + leather shaves me very well. But, I'm open to experimenting...

Just the old warning that before you use any polish you have to know more about it like all the ingredients and the grit size. The bar issue isn't the problem because you can go into rock and lapidary shops and buy bars of different kinds of grits and they can be relatively pure with innocuous items to bind the bar together or things you don't want to use on your razors.

The photos appear to be accidentally deceptive or confusing to me. They do not appear to be of the same level of magnification, so it is difficult to make size comparisons of the striations. Also, I can't agree with the assessment about the edge, as in my opinion, it appears that the pasted edge is much cleaner than the edge in the first photo, which has lots of microchips.

The images were both made with the same microscope at the same magnification 200x. It is sometimes difficult to get the razor to sit at the same angle relative to the lens, so the depth of field can be off from image to image.

The actual edge looks to be about the same in both images in my mind. But on the bevel faces, you can certainly see some rather large striations from the crayon chrome ox.

It gave a pretty nice shave regardless...

Your probably not going to get any pastes anymore. Handamerican was the only place that premixed the stuff. mMost likely you will have to buy the powder and mix it yourself. Just a 50/50 mix with a hand cream/GOOP/mineral oil/face cream/shaving cream/etc will work.
Just 2 pea sized drop will be more than enough.

Check with ChrisL for small quantities or call Handamerican for a larger batch.

Are any of the Vendor's listening? Why have they not picked up on this and started stocking it? It is a proven performer.
