I have honed warped edges before, but nothing this bad. It has a straight edge and is a near wedge. I don't know how I didn't notice it before. If you hold it up to a light and look down the length of the edge you can see it. Everything I have tried doesn't work. Rolling X works for one side, but the warp is so bad that the other side doesn't work. It ends up scraping the corners of the stones. One layer of tape didn't help and two layers either. With two layers the tape was making contact about 1/3 into the concave. Tried narrowing the tape, but that didn't help either. I was thinking since I usually hone toward a smile on most of my razors anyway to just modify this on to a smile since I can't think of anything else to do. It is a 9/16 so didn't really want to have to put a smile on it, but if that is all that I can do so be it. I didn't think near wedges could warp this bad with that much metal. Maybe it was just poor grinding that made it curved I don't know. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
