New DOVO ... Now what?
So just to update this I was doing 45 degree swooping x strokes on my coticule with slurry but will probably have to drop down to the 1k. The very very tip of the razor remain: with black ink on it. I will however wait until I get some help from Mcbladescar! In a couple weeks. My first DOVO shave will have to wait.
but I know when it happens it will be awesome

Here's what the Dovo best looks like. Although I have the only one in existence that has Ivory scales

I had a new dovo, same one, not professionally honed, and learned to shave on that factory edge, with just stropping alone. Though I was getting pretty good shaves really. Finally after about a year I was starting to think this could probably be a better shave. So about 15 passes on the 8k norton, and the shave was noticeably improved. A few weeks later I bought a loom strop with 0.5 crox on one side. After using that the hair was pretty much just falling off, very little resistance if any. If that helps.
