Thanked: 18my natural progression
Like most of us I started my honing adventure with the work horse Norton 4k/8k and then naniwa 12k ss. As my skills improved I added quite a few stones to my lineup. I now use natural hones exclusively past bevel set. I just like the idea of sharpening blades in the way they did before electricity.
Currently I'm using Chosera 800 followed by a quick run on the ss 1k which I think helps mellow out the scratches.
I then follow that with a nice piece of BBW on one of my combination coticules. I go medium slurry and dilute to light.
I then move onto heavy slurry coticule diluted to light slurry.
At this point I move back to BBW with water.
I then follow that up with light slurry coticule to water strokes.
Finally I finish on one of my coticules (color depending on mood.) lately what I believe is a blue-green (though more likely dark blue). It gives a beautiful grayish slurry.
Of course linen to rid it of any loose metal/burs and then leather
This gives me my most comfortable shaves to date. Eventually I will move to JNATS once I have the faintest clue where to properly start. A full nagura progression one of the days.

Thanks for sharing. I follow almost the same procedure 1k to coti. I however found personally I didn't like the BBW for razors.
I am glad it works for you

Something about naturals. All this recent talk about coti's has me looking for one. Thanks for posting.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one
