Thanked: 3227Hopefully if you keep honing you can get into good steal and being a Boker should take a fine edge. Good luck.

Thanked: 634The only way you will know is to hne it. It is impossible to say how deep the pitting is with the naked eye. You may hit solid steel or you may keep hitting pitting. Just hone it and hope for the best. Good luck.

Thanked: 4827I don't think there is anything to add here but I am curious what you used to take the picture.

Thanked: 3227Yea, reckon the camera set up works. I'd stay on your bevel setter till those little whore blossoms of rust quit popping through the bevel before moving up the progression. I don't know how many times I have thought I was good to go on the bevel setter only to have one break through on the higher grits and have to go back to the bevel setter again. It can really try your patience.
