Default Stainless, wedgy, at least is not a smiley. Combined doubts.

Gents, some of you already know I'm a proud curator of a megnificent stainless Helje MK42, aka Viking.
New profile (kinda wedgy), and a new steel to me. Its edge needs a refreshment, and I have an Arkansas translucent, a Chinese 12k, tape, CrO paddle and the old used strop.
Have some of you already battled this blade? Any advise before proceeding?
Proceed as carbon steel and full hollows?

As it is only "kinda wedgy" it should not be much different from a full hollow. Except it may be more tolerant of pressure.

With those stones I would suggest you use the arky as a substrate for cnat slurry to do the heavy work and the arky by itself to finish on. For a hard but worth wild challenge pretend you don't have a crox paddle, doing all the work with stones.

I don't look at my stainless blades any different than the carbon steel ones. My plan of attack always start the same. Look at the blade with a loupe and see if there is anything more to the story. If all is well with the bevel and the edge, and it is just not shaving well I go to my favorite finisher, then fabric and leather and test shave. I never vary that because of the steel or the grind. What I might change is the number of laps, but only because of what I see with the loupe.

Thank you all for the very useful information. Do not get scared! The viking still has the crappy scales it came with and it's somewhat dusty because it is in honing progress.
    Cheers!
