Default Secondary use for chrome oxide honing bar.

I made a paste with the polishing compound and with a bit of elbow grease. Achieved acceptable results.

So you used crox to clean the lenses on your automobile. Well Done.

I've done that, too. I bought various 2 pound bars from mcmaster carr a few years ago, and all of them that are not the green stuff are a little more coarse than I expected. I have found, though, that the lenses re-cloud pretty quickly when they're not sealed with anything (I've never sealed mine with anything, so I don't know what one would use - maybe there's a UV sealant that's available outside of the plastic reconditioning kits).

I tape mine off and use a buffer. Call me lazy (I am).

I am going to try turtlewax. To "seal" it. Works for clear coat paint. Results TBD.

Great tip Maryland, I spray automotive urethane Clear coat, lasts for years and Is UV resistant.

DaveW if you want to buff on some protective glaze then 3M has it at auto stores who carry paint.
