    Default Graduated today at honing

After 3 years of straightrazor shaving and constant failures at honing, it finally clicked. I successfully honed and had wonderful shaves with 3 old razors that I could never use. Many thanks to all on this forum.

I've graduated a few times now, and with each time I seem to get a higher grade.

Bravo, Cam. You have to be feeling great about now.

In all the cauldron of you thinking about it - you might want to keep the honorable Utopian's question in mind - what was different. It may not be clear on a single instance, but pay attention as you go forward to those tiny differences in how the blade feels, along what part of the edge, how it does or doesn't undercut water, etc. 'Hope you have alot of fine shaves from your efforts.

Sorry to be negative but I cant remember how many times I thought, "Finally , I have it" and then later realised I had Jack squat.
Luckily I know what im doing now.

There is always going to be a razor that will, as the Iron Sheik so eloquently put it, "make you humble"
