Yes, probably a version of water based lubricants use for machining and cutting tools. Works well and washes off completely. Been using Smith’s Honing Solution, for a couple of years on several natural stones without issue or staining.

Thanked: 228Nice job on the smiling blade. I have a nice WB smiling blade that I have finally honed successfully but it takes a while to get that rolling technique down. I do still have problems but I realize that practice practice practice does the trick.
