Here is a pic of my only bellied hollow if anyone cares to see it. It's a heck of an end-of-day razor. Thanks for all the feedback.

Thanked: 3215Seriously, glad you figured it out. The Norton’s and Shaptons’ are hard to beat and the benefits of proper stropping cannot be overlooked. Try stropping between stone, when honing.
Hair test are always a hot button issue, if they work for you, use them. I believe in using any test, even chopping fruit and or sculpting paper if it improves your edges.
Nice scales, do be careful, they are prone to Cell Rot.
Looks like you might be hitting the Stabilizer slightly, keeping the heel off the stone, could be the photo.

Hey, thanks for the remarks. I don't know what cell rot is. I like these end-of-day-style scales. I sharpen only the blade. On occasions, if I'm not being totally careful, I may hit the stabilizer with my stone, but that doesn't happen often. I looked at this razor and the stabilizer on both sides don't really show any honing scrapes.
