I haven't graduated to creating an artistic rendering of our favorite edge attributes, but was pleased to have been able to capture edge sharpness on both digital & film. 'Hope they come through alright. Name: 09a.jpg

Glen, Dang it - I'm heading that way, but have to stop short in Tacoma. A couple friends had a fit of poor judgement and want me to do the pics at their wedding. I sure wouldn't want me to. This is terrible. I'll miss you & several others. I hope its great time.

How the heck was the patterning done on that spine???

edit: never mind, I get it now. On my phone at first viewing I thought the small lengthwise grooves were in valleys but nowI see that is not the case. Still, it's very nicely done.

Was that a gray hair? I find that they cut more easily!

My gray hairs are more difficult to cut. Too limp.

    Dagnabbit!!!

Now this is exactly why beginners should not bother with the hanging hair test. The calibration is too specific to the individual's hair, and besides, too many beginners lack gray hair.

Venturing into the realm of too much information...(again)...

I have long since accepted gray hairs on my head, as well as a few other locations, but it was still pretty irritating when I found my first gray ear hair!

It was, indeed, a gray hair. The few darker hairs have measured (micrometer) .0018" thick & don't cut for anything. The white chest hairs come in at .0033". The razor is a beloved Williams creation, purchased from the honorable Riooso some years back. The spine is carved like a rope pattern, extending completely around the shank - making an artistic set of jimps that surround the shank. Like most Williams, its hard steel, takes time to work the edge, and delivers heavenly shaves for a long time before needing refreshment. 'Can't say how good it is to have you back on the forum, Utopian. Your kind help (and others) got me going in the craft & I'm grateful.
