Yep, I've used a diamond plate to slurry very hard naguras - I have a piece of koma that's so hard it will make your eyes water. Diamond sluury is about the only way its grit is uasable. On softer stones, it's just a tomo, on harder stones it takes 30 minutes to raise a weak slurry.

Put an edge back on a pair of Feon's tonight. A nicely etched 888 and a smaller but quite serviceable 8800 tonight. Went with the chosera to restore the bevels, than up through the norton4/8, a coti, from slurry to clear, and finished on my rapidly becoming favorite finisher, the ZG.

Took my time cleaning these two up and now that I have put an edge back in them, I wonder what took me so long. Both seem excitingly sharp, tree topping hair with ease..

I finally pulled the trigger on the much lauded Suehiro Gokumyo 20K. It arrived in the mail today. A restore Sheffield 7/8 wedge will be its first victim. I've been finishing with a Naniwa 12K and Chromium Oxide on felt with great success. A very consistent finish. Really curious to see how it differs. My initial plan is to set the bevel on a Chosera 1k, Naniwa 3k, 5k, 8K, 12k, Gokumyo 20K and skip the Chromium Oxide. I'll use just clear water with the 20K.
I've been using the Chosera 1K vice my 1K Norton at Glen's recommendation now for a few months. What a fantastic stone. I haven't touched Norton since.
Does the 20K need to be flattened as I assume all hones do? I plan on using a worn 325 DMT.

Yes, you should flatten it as they can be way off. It is pretty hard so it may be a challenge for a worn DMT 325.
