Hey there are guys out there that actually save the slurry dust from stones..

They make Strop pastes from it and some use it on the stones so they don't have to build it over and over J-nat and Coticule gents can be "eccentric"

Utopian schooled me about this at a meet. My eyes got a big a saucers when he said it. Once he explained why, I saw the waste not want not mentality. And then I caught myself squeezing out my extra soap from my brush post shave and saving it. I guess we all have our ticks.

Jnats was so kind to have sent me a couple of stones to try. I have them, staring at them like a kid before Christmas. He is on a trip and I am waiting till he gets back for further instructions on how to use them. Then I can try out a jnat and post more pictures. Dont ever mess with another mans hone. 3 different little cream rocks and a slab of green.

    Naw. The word is "cheap."

The eccentric part though does come from the fact that I have enough coticules and J-nats to last several honing life-times. Still, I don't want to waste them and deprive later generations from the opportunity of using them.

Moving my Christmas Day shaver to finish on Naniwa 12k. This Case wedge is virtually like brand-new.
Several back-hone strokes were needed throughout the progression. She wants to wire-edge ever so little.
    Feather strokes! Gonna be good!

"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
    I rest my case.
