Solved the edge question. It must have been from hitting the USB microscope. Happened with another one so since then I try to only do loupe. To get the really good magnification on my USB scope I have to be almost touching the razor otherwise I cant get it to focus.
Took the Cape and worked on the bevel - 3,5K chosera followed by 8k junpaku. The toe was not hitting all the way and my rolling stroke is still in it's infancy so I did the synthetic progression using the edge of the stones. Followed by suita.
Finished on nakayama asagi with a pretty hard tomo I got from Keith-Gamma. It took forever to raise slurry but it was worth it. Pure silk. Kept working the slurry with occasionally hydrating it to maintain consistency.
Once that was done I started diluting. When I was down to very thin slurry things got a bit skippy/sticky. I read somewhere that you can use dish soap so I gave it a shot with a small drop and the skipping went away. Another 20 or so x-strokes then stropped. Shave was amazing, my best edge so far. I gauge the razors based on how they cut AGT on my neck, adams apple to chin, after I have shaved WTG. This one is sharp yet comfortable.
It was interesting to see how the razor was undercutting the slurry specially when it was a bit dryer.
