Pretty plain looking coticule.I believe the seller said he thought it was a lgj but I think he was going by looks?

Damn! Now that is old! By the looks, it was taken care of for being almost 190 years at least by the newspaper date. Thanks for posting!

Very hard to tell going by on the lower res forum pictures , I will guide you to http://www.coticule.be/clinic.html where they can give you a good guess

As I mentioned in another thread, a few months back I obtained a few lots of razors from eBay with the idea of learning to restore them. Overtime got in the way and it isn't going anywhere soon, but I at least wanted to hone the ones that didn't need any other attention.
This is an Elliott Feather Weight.
The scales are rough but usable. No rust on the blade...as far as I'm concerned this one is ready to go back into a shaving rotation.
It honed quickly. It felt like the heel/toe areas wanted a bit more attention but came along nicely.

A few oldies headed to the Norton 4/8. I worked a looooong time on the French frameback clearing chips and setting the bevel. Some HARD steel!

I love those framebacks.
