My current habit is to almost never flatten my 13K but once or twice a year and just
use it. Remember, I am a shaver not a honemaster.

If I get a bad shave it is likely my lathering that is lacking.
Easy to test with a good fresh DE blade.

It looks like a Sigma Power 13k. How are using the stone with water? Splash and go or briefly soaked? Standing water on the surface or just a dampened surface when honing?
