I seem to like 13K hones.
I am not sure one is better then the next.
For refreshing a shaver I grab a 13K hone and give it
about twenty seconds of back&forth strokes each side
then about 40 normal honing strokes.
Strop and shave.
My oldest 13K Naniwa was the first hone that gave me a sharp as a feather edge
(but smoother).
I can no longer remember the English for this maker. It might have been an experimental test
batch but the price was a good one seven years ago or so.
My current habit is to almost never flatten my 13K but once or twice a year and just
use it. Remember, I am a shaver not a honemaster.
If I get a bad shave it is likely my lathering that is lacking.
Easy to test with a good fresh DE blade.
