Yep, I've even tried to test 3 or 4, but that gets to be too much to think about in 1 shave-but most of the time 2 if I'm doing a lot of honing.

My problem is that if I hone a razor well, I don’t have to shave for two days, so if I have more than 2 to shave test, I have to test each newly honed razor on a relatively small part of my face.

Gave a refresh to four more today.
Stones left to right Hard Ark, Norton 8-K, and Translucent Ark. Razors left to right John Doe no name, R.B.&R, Griffon frame back and a French frame back I can't spell.

So how's the edge on the Diller holding up, has it made it back to the hones yet.!?

Mike after you honed the Diller it's like the Energizer bunny.....it just keeps on going and going.

So I'm testing that NOS rainbow swirly Washita I got recently. I took this old Joseph Elliott Best Silver Steel, one of my 1st razors (and the edge still showed it), reset the bevel on the Chosera green brick, and then did some mid-range work on the washita that I had finished out to 2k with a diamond belt. About 75 laps on water, another 75ish on water and glycerine, and finished on my trusty surgical black Arkansas.

No synthetics touched the edge after the bevel set. While the washita left a more hazy, ragged scratch pattern following the Chosera, I resisted the temptation to switch to my Norton 4/8. Some Japanese-style half-strokes with a bit of torque cleaned them up to a degree on the surgical black Ark. My usual post-hone stropping progression had the edge passing my standard "tree-topping" arm hair test-the fine hairs were just jumping away. We'll see on the shave test.

More testing is warranted. If this one is not optimal for razors, I'm certain it will be great for knives-we'll see.

Well, I just shaved with that blade on a nice cushion of Tabac lather, and wow! If anything, it was a bit smoother than my usual SB Arkie edge after a Nani 12k, and still just as sharp. I'm frankly surprised, especially as I was told that this stone might be kind of rough and closer to a soft ark than an actual graded washita. My next test will be to see if I can set a bevel on the rough side (finished to 600 grit). With some more fine work on the smooth side, I think I'll even try to see how it goes as a finisher. So far so good!
