Thanked: 1587My honing is always messy I'm afraid, and I just finished 6 razors for someone yesterday so the stones are dirty and ...well, I don't keep things very clean, sorry.
Got motivated to do a couple of my old customs that have been sitting around for a while collecting dust. One is by Alex Jacques (maybe even his first, or close to it) - it's the sway-backed looking one with the opaque yellow/greeen scales. The other is by someone I cannot remember now, I'm really really sorry about that whoever you are/were [EDIT: I am a moron, it is a Bruno - sorry Bruno]. Both were made to my unrealistic designs but, bless them, they did it anyway. They are both a bit of an effort to hone I have to say, but worth it.
Stones are a 1.2K Atoma diamond plate, a Norton 4/8K, an escher/thuringian (the short thin blue one), and then a Nakayama maruka something something Asagi (larger sky-blue stone). This is my standard progression for my razors and the ones I hone for others. Always produce a really consistently good shaving edge.
James.
