Thanked: 20First shave with my DD SatinEdge after re-honing starting from scratch
I dulled the edge on my DD Satinedge yesterday on a glass and then honed. This morning was my test shave.
It was a beautiful, smooth, gliding shave. Lathered twice and it was the proverbial smooth as a baby's behind.

Thanked: 4826It's always great to be successful. I have found that hands on at a meet will take it to the next level. Congratulations.

Great to hea.
I'v aalways been a little scared as to deliberately dull the edge and hone from scratch.
Might give it a try sometime, when I feel courageous enough.

Thanked: 20Thanks folks.
Toonboog, go for it. You can't hurt the razor. If you have several in your rotation, take one that is perhaps your least favorite and/or most beat up and give it whirl.

Hi Shikano,
my rotation isn't very large.
I have 4 straights en a 'when-speed-is-of-the-essence' - DE.
Nevetheless I can find one to fiddle about with.
Thanks for the encouragment.
I have a set of naniwa's up to 10K, but I'd like to better my honing on a nice belgium coticule I have.

Picture or it didn't happen.
I kinda like the DD razors myself.
