Thanked: 20Re-honed my Dovo Stainless yesterday - Test shave this morning - Wow!
Thinking that my Dovo stainless needed a new edge, (Or because I was bored) I took it down on glass yesterday and re-honed it on my Belgium Le Verte coticule and shaved with it this morning.
What an awesome shave! It shaved even better than my DD SatinEdge not that I think the DD is all that special other than it has the DD letters on it, I used a good old Col Conk lime glycerin soap. I usually use Castle Forbes Lime essential oils cream, but the colonel did a fine job.
Lathered up twice and then finished off with alum and then a splash of Ogallala Bay Rum, Sage and Cedar aftershave. It's not bad, but I prefer the Ogallala double strength Bay rum much more.

I have honed when bored before too lol
So where are the pictures of this razor? My only stainless blade right now is my Livi, but I like it a lot and that might be changing soon!

Thanked: 98Cool Shikano, the bad weather here put me in Honing mode, careful lapping on my stones today and some bevel sets to do on some practice razors, even though I have not had the ultimate shave from my coticule, it is coming soon I think.

Thanked: 4828I love my "Cat 'O' Nine Tails" aftershave for the first shave after a honing, it will tell you how well that honing really was. If it was not prefect it will give you an added little slap.

Every razor should shave nothing short of fantastic. Spend some time with your DD and I'll bet it shaves the same.
By the way, some nice pipes you have there. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Beautiful pics. Very nice pipes too and I also enjoy Balkan Sobranie and also Sasieni. Do you post in the Shave Of The Day thread?

Thanked: 20Thanks Steel, no I have never posted there. I will check it out. Sasieni is a fine smoke as well. Here is a great forum you might already be a member of but it is a great place.
